Old tiles are stubborn. Floor tiles are usually laid on a thick sand-and-cement bed; wall tiles can pull the plasterboard with them if they are not removed correctly. We use professional tile removal tools, ride-on and walk-behind scrapers for large areas, and HEPA dust extraction to keep airborne dust to a minimum. Afterwards we grind the substrate flat and remove all debris and rubble.

What affects the cost of tile removal

Tile removal is priced on area and how hard the tiles are to lift:

• The floor or wall area being stripped
• The tile and bed type, since a thick mud bed is far more work than a thin-set tile
• Whether the substrate needs grinding flat afterwards
• Access and how much dust control the site requires

How long tile removal takes

A single bathroom or small floor is often stripped in a day. Larger floors and full homes take longer, especially where a thick mud bed has to come up. Our dust extraction means the work can usually go ahead without closing down the rest of the house or business.
