Tile removal strips floor and wall tiles, tile bedding and adhesive using low-dust extraction equipment with HEPA filtration. Strip It Out provides tile removal across the Gold Coast and Brisbane for ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and bathroom splashbacks. Substrate ready for new flooring.
Tile removal is the dustiest, most labour-intensive part of most renovations, and the part most worth handing to specialists. Strip It Out provides low-dust tile removal across the Gold Coast and Brisbane, lifting floor and wall tiles, the bed they sit on and the adhesive beneath, to leave a clean substrate ready for new flooring.
Part of our broader internal strip out and demolition services — see the hub page for the Queensland regulatory framework, process, cost factors and contractor vetting checklist.
Old tiles are stubborn. Floor tiles are usually laid on a thick sand-and-cement bed; wall tiles can pull the plasterboard with them if they are not removed correctly. We use professional tile removal tools, ride-on and walk-behind scrapers for large areas, and HEPA dust extraction to keep airborne dust to a minimum. Afterwards we grind the substrate flat and remove all debris and rubble.
What affects the cost of tile removal
Tile removal is priced on area and how hard the tiles are to lift:
- The floor or wall area being stripped
- The tile and bed type, since a thick mud bed is far more work than a thin-set tile
- Whether the substrate needs grinding flat afterwards
- Access and how much dust control the site requires
We measure the job and give you a clear, fixed quote, usually per square metre.
How long tile removal takes
A single bathroom or small floor is often stripped in a day. Larger floors and full homes take longer, especially where a thick mud bed has to come up. Our dust extraction means the work can usually go ahead without closing down the rest of the house or business.
We remove ceramic, porcelain and natural stone floor tiles, wall tiles and splashbacks, and large-format and commercial tiling. Tile removal is a core part of every bathroom demolition and kitchen demolition we carry out, and it pairs naturally with vinyl and carpet removal when a whole floor is being replaced.
Tile bedding and adhesive contain crystalline silica, so proper dust extraction protects your home's air quality and everyone on site. Strip It Out is family-owned, fully licensed and insured, with more than seven years of low-dust tile removal across the Gold Coast and Brisbane. Send photos for a free, fixed-scope quote.
